Role Overview
We are seeking a Consultant/Specialist Addiction Medicine Physician (Non-Psychiatrist) to lead medical detoxification and withdrawal management for inpatient addiction treatment. The role works closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead inpatient detox and withdrawal management
Manage medical complications (DTs, seizures, overdose, hepatic issues)
Prescribe and oversee MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, Suboxone)
Act as primary attending physician during inpatient stay
Collaborate with psychiatrists and clinical teams
Support clinical protocols, governance, and physician mentoring
Mandatory Requirements
MD / MBBS / DO
Formal training or board certification in Addiction Medicine
Hospital-based detox / inpatient addiction experience
Background in Internal Medicine / Family Medicine / Emergency Medicine (not Psychiatry)
Experience in recognized addiction treatment institutions
Fluent English
