Back Office Medical Assistant

The Back Office Medical Assistant or Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting the clinical operations of our family practice. This position focuses on hands-on patient care, clinical procedures, and effective communication between patients, providers, and external healthcare partners.
Responsibilities
As a key member of our care team, you'll help create a smooth, organized, and positive experience for both patients and providers. Core responsibilities include:
- Patient Intake & Preparation: Take vital signs, document medical histories, and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
- Clinical Support: Assist the provider during exams and minor procedures.
- Care Coordination: Provide patients with follow-up instructions, medication guidance, and education on treatment plans.
- Communication with Labs & Pharmacies: Relay provider orders and coordinate communication between the office and outside labs, imaging centers, and pharmacies to ensure timely care.
- Handling Results & Patient Follow-Up: Track lab/imaging results and follow up with patients regarding test outcomes or next steps.
- EMR Management: Accurately document patient interactions, procedures, and results in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Room Turnover & Supply Management: Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and ensure clinical supplies are organized and available.
- Immunizations & Injections: Administer vaccines and medications (if certified or licensed).
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with providers, front office staff, and fellow clinicians to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.

- A warm, approachable bedside manner and strong communication skills.
- Experience in a primary care or family practice setting (preferred).
- The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Medical Assistant certification or nursing license (required).
- Experience with EMR systems and comfort with patient follow-up communication.
- At least 1 year of experience.
