Educates patients on oral hygiene and performs dental hygiene services and procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride, root planning, and in-office whitening treatments.
Completes a thorough assessment of the patient's teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and documents any abnormalities or suspected conditions.
Coducts visual examination and feeling of gums for signs of disease, sores, and other dental health issues.
Refers patients to different dentists as per patientsβ needs (GP Dentist, Orthodontist, Periodontist, Implantologist, and Oral Surgeon, etc.).
Complies with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Promotes preventative dental care to improve patient oral health care.
Participates in activities to promote healthy oral hygiene in schools/ corporate events and increase patient footfall (business development activities).
Educates patients on good oral hygiene techniques (how to brush your teeth, how to use dental floss and interproximal brushes, the type of food that can stain the teeth, etc.).
Provides high-quality, comprehensive dental care and maintains a dental hygiene program for patients.
Carries out Periocharting and sub-gingival scaling for patients with Periodontal Disease.
Records dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentists.
Maintains dental equipment and x-ray machine.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Bachelorβs Degree/Diploma in Dental Hygiene
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-qualification in a related field
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use computers for a variety of tasks
Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
Knowledge of computer task
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
