ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
An ideal Director of Development & External Affairs (“Director”) is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and resourceful professional who will lead all fundraising efforts for the organization and ensure that Kheir is maximizing and leveraging individual, foundation and corporate contributions, while effectively strengthening our brand. Reporting directly to and working closely with the CEO, the Director will develop and execute a fundraising strategy designed to support the organization’s future goals and mission. This senior level position is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, strategic development professional who wants to shape and influence the organization’s directions through targeted external affairs, marketing, and public relations, related to fundraising. The individual is hands-on, motivated, and experienced self-starter with a sense of urgency and social responsibility. Being able to live and lead by the organization’s mission and values is a mandatory qualification for any member of Kheir, particularly for key staff positions such as this one.
You will leverage your creative talent and cumulative leadership experience and expertise in generating revenue from philanthropic, corporate and government sources. As you implement best practices and find new and innovative avenues in which to strengthen our revenue stream, you will derive fulfillment from your hands-on efforts directly impacting our service and capacity expansions and impacting the community’s social determinants of health and wealth. Working as a key senior member of our leadership team, it will be your ability to blaze new trails that will allow you to collaborate with smart, committed and mission-oriented individuals on a daily basis as you drive and support our growth! Your polished and engaging verbal, written and presentation skills are paramount to effectively collaborating with internal leadership and guiding a team responsible for assuring the fulfillment of philanthropic grants and government contracts.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is primarily an office position that requires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires daily use of a company provided computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. The position requires occasional travel to attend on- and off-site meetings.
