Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Technician works collaboratively with physicians and the interventional care team to support a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise, strict adherence to sterile technique, and a commitment to patient safety, radiation protection, and procedural excellence.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist proceduralists including Interventional Radiologists, Interventional Neurologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Interventional Cardiologists during interventional procedures
* Perform imaging support for routine diagnostic angiography to complex vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures
* Accurately identify patients and ensure correct patient information across all imaging systems
* Prepare and maintain sterile procedural trays and equipment for assigned procedures
* Properly prep patients including draping, site preparation, table setup, and line priming
* Maintain sterile technique throughout all procedures
* Support fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging while minimizing radiation exposure and fluoroscopy time
* Adhere to medication management guidelines including documentation, storage, labeling, and security
* Ensure consistent use of radiation protection devices and maintain accurate patient fluoroscopy logs
* Perform room turnover including cleaning equipment, disposing of single-use items, and maintaining a clutter-free workspace
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate charging and logging of studies
* Participate in mandatory meetings, in-services, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives
* Perform additional duties as assigned in support of department operations

Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
* State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
* State of California Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit (CRTFP)
* ARRT certification required

Preferred Certifications
* ARRT (VI) – Vascular Interventional Radiography
* ARRT (CI) – Cardiac Interventional
* ARRT (CVI) – Cardiac-Vascular Intervention (if currently valid)
