Job Summary:
This is a full-time, direct placement position. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will provide tailored therapeutic interventions, developmental assessments, and behavioral support to children on the autism spectrum. Your work will involve collaboration with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized plans that support each child's growth and integration into their environment. This role contributes significantly to empowering children and their families to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Developmental and Psychological Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive assessments using standardized tools to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social functioning in children with autism.
Interpret findings to inform diagnostic decisions and treatment planning.
Therapeutic Interventions:
Provide individual and family therapy tailored to the unique needs of autistic children, employing evidence-based approaches such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and play therapy.
Address sensory processing challenges, communication barriers, and social skill deficits.
Individualized Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with the childβs developmental level and family goals.
Monitor progress, revise strategies as needed, and communicate updates to families and care teams.
Family Education and Support:
Educate families on autism spectrum disorders, developmental strategies, and coping techniques.
Offer guidance to strengthen the parent-child relationship and improve daily living outcomes.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Work closely with educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
Advocate for appropriate educational placements and support services.
Behavioral Support:
Design and implement behavior management plans to address challenging behaviors.
Train families and caregivers in effective strategies to promote positive behavior and skill acquisition.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and uphold confidentiality.
Requirements:
Licensure:
Must hold an active and unrestricted Psychologist license in the state of Indiana.
Education:
Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) with a focus on child development, clinical psychology, or a related field. (preferred)
Masters in Psychology (required)Β
Certification:
Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) or equivalent training in autism interventions is highly valued.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience working with autistic children preferred.
Familiarity with evidence-based autism treatments and interventions is essential.
Skills:
Strong expertise in developmental assessment and behavioral interventions.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build rapport with children and families and work collaboratively within a team.
