One of our customers on the Oomple platform is currently recruiting Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for long-term contracts at correctional facilities in the Sacramento area. If you have at least one full year of LVN experience, we want to hear from you!
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid LVN license in the state of California.
- Ability to work AM, PM, or NOC shifts.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to individuals within the correctional facility.
- Assess and address healthcare needs, including monitoring vital signs and conducting routine health checks.
Medication Administration
- Administer medications as prescribed, following established protocols.
- Ensure accurate documentation of dosage and frequency.
Health Assessments
- Conduct health assessments to identify and address medical concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams as needed.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility.
- Provide immediate care and coordinate with the healthcare team.
Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, registered nurses, and mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Patient Education
- Educate inmates on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies to promote overall well-being.
