Position Overview:

The Medical Receptionist plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience. This position involves greeting patients, managing the front desk, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients with professionalism and a warm demeanor
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone, email, or text
  • Answer phone calls and assist with patient inquiries or direct them appropriately
  • Collect and verify patient insurance and billing information
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management system
  • Handle front desk payments and process insurance claims
  • Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and providers for daily schedules
  • Ensure the waiting area is tidy, welcoming, and compliant with safety standards
  • Respect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a dental or medical office is a plus
  • Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft) preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and in a team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
