Description

The Adult and Geriatric focused Clinical Neuropsychologist will maintain a regular schedule of outpatient assessments/consultations and follow-up visits to provide an explanation of test results and recommendations to patients and their families.  Experience with a wide variety of adult neurological and medical disorders that may affect cognition is desired.  Particular expertise in geriatric care and dementia assessment is preferred.  The Neuropsychology Clinic consists of neuropsychologists, psychometrists, and a patient care specialist. Neuropsychologists at Mayo Clinic Health System, Wisconsin enjoy a collegial relationship with Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Primary Care. This position could see the addition of other services depending on the training and experience of the candidate.  Additional benefits include the support of psychology and neuropsychology colleagues throughout the Mayo Clinic system with regular interdisciplinary and neuropsychology focused case conferences, grand rounds, and didactic learning programs.  Opportunities for clinical involvement in the Mayo Clinic HABIT Healthy Action to Benefit Independence in Thinking® program for patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment and collaboration on research projects are available as well.

 



Qualifications

A doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D.) with a focus in neuropsychology.  Postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Neuropsychology, in line with Houston Conference Guidelines, is required.  Neuropsychologists at Mayo Clinic must be ABPP certified in clinical neuropsychology and engage in Maintenance of Certification as a condition of continued employment.  Applicants who are not yet board certified will be expected to enter and progress through the ABPP/ABCN board certification process in a timely fashion.  Must be licensed in Wisconsin or eligible for licensure.
