The Advanced Practice Provider III (APP III) delivers high-level clinical care in collaboration with supervising physicians in approved settings including clinics, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers, consistent with Florida regulatory and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities include obtaining histories and physical exams; ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests; developing and managing treatment plans; providing patient education; coordinating referrals; prescribing medications (including controlled substances, where authorized); and performing bedside and operating room procedures within approved competencies.
The APP III demonstrates advanced clinical judgment across the lifespan, participates in credentialing and licensure activities, and contributes to quality improvement, education, research, and professional service initiatives. Leadership involvement in committees and team-based projects is expected.
Service-Specific Responsibilities – Orthopedic Surgery
Provides direct clinical support to the Orthopedic Surgery practice with a high degree of independence. Duties include outpatient consultations, inpatient follow-up, perioperative care, fracture management, clinic-based procedures, and surgical first assist responsibilities. Participates in weekday and rotating weekend call coverage. Serves as an advanced clinical resource and supports the education of students, residents, and fellows. Responsibilities may evolve based on departmental needs and clinical scope.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date
