Perianesthesia Registered Nurse

East Side Surgery Center is looking for a Perianesthesia RN to join our team. This person is responsible for meeting the nursing care needs of the patients in the pre-op/post-op areas.

Responsibilities: 

• Provide exceptional patient care – The registered nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable for quality of care delivered to his/her patient, and maintains nursing standards while supporting patients with all applicable medical needs.
• Maintains a safe environment and promotes patient safety.
• Self motivated; able to accept quick, repetitive, surgical procedures and find satisfaction in the job. 
• Fosters a positive and professional attitude by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner. 
• Ability to work with others within a team environment.

Requirements: 

• Completed RN training program and have PA Licensure
• BLS certification;   ACLS and PALS certification preferred
• A minimum of two years pre-op and/or post-op experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time  
• Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and utilizing a full range of body motion. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
• Must be able to recognize and institute treatment for the following OR emergencies: Cardiac Arrhythmia's; Cardiac Arrest; Airway Obstruction, and Malignant Hyperthermia crisis.
• Must be willing to work overtime and/or be flexible with hours of work as staffing needs change.
