Minimum Qualifications
Current Knowledge of: Current Edition of AAPD Pediatric Dentistry Reference Manual Dental school educational processes Restorative and preventive information and technique Education: DDS / DMD or international equivalent; degree earned from ADA -accredited school of dentistry is preferred. Certificate or Masterβs degree indicating successful completion of an ADA -accredited specialty training program in pediatric dentistry is required Current, active license to practice dentistry Valid CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is desirable, but not required Ability to: Communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, students, staff, faculty and administration Work independently with minimal supervision Work effectively as a team with administrators, faculty, staff, and students Maintain confidentiality of information Demonstrate professional judgment in all situations Sincere desire to learn from and to teach students in all phases of the curriculum, using a humanistic educational model Sincere desire for personal growth and development as an educator Involvement or desire to be involved in organized dentistry, especially organized pediatric dentistry Involvement or desire to be involved in community outreach activities Involvement or desire to participate in professional education beyond the school, on local, state, regional, national and international levels
