JOB TITLE: Staff RN, ICU
REPORTS TO: Unit Director/Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The RN is assigned the responsibility for assessing, planning, delegating, implementing, evaluating and coordinating the nursing care delivered to critical care patients during their stay in ICU. This RN has the responsibility for the education of individual patients and their specific healthcare needs. Other responsibilities include effective communication between the patient, family, supervisor/manager, physician(s), and other healthcare providers. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred. BSN preferred. Completion of a critical care course preferred. Two year’s nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current California RN license and BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. PALS preferred. Hemodynamic monitoring certificate required within 120 days of hire or status change. Basic Dysrhythmia certificate required within 120 days of hire or status change.
