The School Psychologist supports students' learning and emotional well-being by providing psychological services, assessments, and interventions. This full-time, in-person role collaborates with educators, parents, and administrators to promote a positive school environment and ensure students' academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' academic and mental health needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create strategies that enhance student learning and behavioral outcomes.
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Assist in the identification and referral of students requiring additional mental health services.
- Conduct observations and collect data to monitor students' progress and recommend necessary modifications to interventions.
- Facilitate professional development sessions for school staff on topics related to mental health, behavioral interventions, and student well-being.
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment by implementing evidence-based programs for social-emotional learning and positive behavior support.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education and student services.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience in educational settings, preferably working with diverse student populations.
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessments, intervention strategies, and special education laws.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
