QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse or LPN Certification required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual skills helpful
- Training in CPR and first aid required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work with details and maintain accurate
and thorough records - Strong project management skills, including personal initiative and ability to coordinate with others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use physical ability to lift students and perform other manipulations to diaper, toilet, feed, dress, and assist students with other daily living skills.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to participate in de-escalation training and implementation (if applicable).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Duties assigned by the Principal and/or Certified School Nurse, including:- Displays professionalism, including integrity and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and activities throughout the day.
- Demonstrates cooperation, collaboration, openness for growth and willingness to contribute in a team approach.
- Assists Principal and Certified School Nurse in maintenance and confidentiality of all student health records.
- Assists Principal in maintenance and confidentiality of all student health records.
- Assumes responsibility for obtaining and maintaining student health forms including health records, immunization records, dental forms, physicals, completing accident reports, etc.
- Administers first aid and care to sick or injured students.
- Under the direction of the District Nurse, voluntarily dispenses medications to students according to instructions provided by the student’s parents, physician, and the District’s policies and procedures.
- Maintains first aid supplies.
- Communicates with parents regarding health policies, illnesses, injuries, etc.
- Assists with vision and hearing screening, as directed.
- Consults with school or district nurses, as needed.
- Answers office telephones and respond appropriately to request for information or direct the caller to the person(s) with proper information.
- Greets all visitors courteously, determine their needs, check appointments, maintain visitor logs, and direct or escort them to proper person.
- Processes visitors through Raptor system, as needed.
- Attends and participate in assigned meetings and trainings, as directed.
- Attends team meetings and parent-teacher conferences, if requested or as appropriate.
- Performs other similar duties as directed by the teacher or the principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: - All student attendance days, Institute Days, and Workdays, with an additional five days as determined by the Principal.
- 7.5 hours per day
- Salary to be established by the Board of Education ($36.36/hour)

EVALUATION:
The Principal will serve as the evaluator with performance reviewed annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
