The Department of Medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Cardio-Oncologist to join an interdisciplinary team. This individual will have expertise in general cardiology, management and prevention of heart failure and a commitment to providing advanced, comprehensive care for patients with cancer, ensuring their long-term heart health is protected throughout their treatment journey. The cardiologist will perform cardiac risk assessment for patients before, during, and after cancer treatment in collaboration with oncologists, hematologists, and radiation specialists to create tailored treatment plans that minimize cardiotoxicity and will utilize advanced cardiac imaging and diagnostic tools to detect heart issues early and prevent long-term complications. Teaching effort (10% effort) will include education of medical students, residents and fellows. Participation in appropriate hospital, departmental or University service activities.
The ideal candidate will be board eligible/certified, with a commitment to clinical care and medical education. Interests in resident education, fellow education, and clinical research are encouraged.
