Locum Non-Invasive Cardiologist - San Francisco, CASetting: Academic Hospital Inpatient + Outpatient Level I Trauma CenterAssignment Overview
  • Start Date: 11/3/25
  • Contract Length: 6 months, with option to extend
  • Schedule:
    • Monday-Friday, 5x8s
    • Minimum availability: 2 weeks per month
    • Ideally looking for at least 2 weeks/mo of coverage
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient cardiology
  • High-volume echocardiographic interpretation
  • Procedures:
    • TTE (Transthoracic Echocardiography)
    • TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography)
  • Patient Population: Adults only
  • Echo Volume: 25-30 per day
  • EMR: Epic
Department Details
  • Support Staff: Echo techs, interventional cardiologist on call, inpatient cardiology attending support
  • Facility: Teaching hospital and research-focused environment
  • Echo Types: Emergent, high acuity, and routine
  • Trauma Level I
Preferred Expertise
  • Subspecialty interest in:
    • Heart failure, arrhythmias, echocardiographic imaging, preventive cardiology, cardiometabolic syndrome
  • Experience with:
    • Teaching
    • Diverse patient populations
    • Clinical research or health equity studies
  • Bilingual candidates a plus
Requirements
  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
  • License: California medical license - Required
  • DEA: California DEA with Schedule II - Required
  • Certifications:
    • Required: BLS
    • Preferred: Advanced Echo Level III certification
  • Experience:
    • Must have recent high-volume echo reading experience
    • Teaching experience strongly preferred
    • Open to new grads with strong echo background
