Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

A locum tenens position is available for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at a busy hospital in West Reading, PA. This role requires working under supervision alongside anesthesiologists, covering various surgical procedures including thoracic (except open heart), neuro, and complex orthopedic cases. The schedule includes working four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with potential overtime after 40 hours.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care across a range of specialties including neuro, complex vascular, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Perform patient evaluation and anesthesia planning.
• Manage ventilation, acute volume, and blood pressure issues during surgery.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania license required.
• Certification as a CRNA is mandatory.
• Previous experience with a full-time availability of at least 3-4 weeks a month.

Working Hours

• Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
• No night or weekend call requirements.

Skills

• Proficiency in general, spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia is preferred.
• Skilled in the management of post-op epidurals and extremity blocks.
• Experience with thoracic cases, except open heart, and pediatric patients.
• Knowledge in placement of central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters is beneficial.
