Child Psychiatrist -Part-Time or Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Inpatient Child Psychiatrist to join our team of behavioral health professionals. This role focuses on providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment and can serve in a part-time (20 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) capacity.

ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Conducts psychiatric/mental status examinations; assessment and treatment of psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral disorders and disabilities; treatment plan development, approval and review; involuntary admission; and medication management.
2. Provides or prescribes and supervises diagnosis, care, therapies, interventions, or other approved treatment modalities for assigned caseload.  Maintains therapeutic environment.
3. Supervises and participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings; provides direction, consultation, and education as necessary or as required.
4. Assures that each patient will have a problem-oriented treatment plan with appropriate goals and objectives.  Approves client service plans, monitors implementation, guides update and revision as appropriate; Reviews each assigned case at regular intervals for evaluation of the course of treatment and revision of the treatment plan.
5. Documents all service activities, interventions, and recommendations in accordance with Client Record Handbook specifications or applicable policies, procedures, or Bylaws of the Medical Staff.  Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate patient records, treatment plans, and other required information.

Education/Experience: 

• MD diploma.

• Licensure as a physician in accordance with Florida Statute 458 and certification or eligible for certification by a recognized board in a medical specialty area

Licensure or Certification:

• Licensure as a physician in accordance with Florida Statute 458. 

• Certification or eligible for certification by a recognized board in a medical specialty area;

• Legally authorized to practice by the State for required functions or action; must act within the scope of license.
