RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities and programs to meet the needs of South Peninsula Hospital's leadership and clinical staff. Serve as a subject matter expert on education best practices, adult learning theory, and clinical professional development. Collaborate with Education peers and SPH Leadership to identify training needs and drive workforce development initiatives. Develop and lead a variety of training sessions, workshops, and courses to enhance staff competency, with a focus on evidence-based practices. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN degree required. MSN degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience is required. Previous experience in planning, implementing, and/or evaluating education is preferred. Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alaska Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor cards for BLS, ACLS, & PALS within 12 months of hire English Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently Other Qualifications: The individual in this position should be self-motivated and passionate about education. Successful candidates should excel in: Project Management Prioritizing multiple tasks Collaborating with a variety of healthcare team members effectively ENVIRONMENT: South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed acute care hospital and 28-bed long-term care facility located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The working environment is clean and well-maintained, with most of work being performed inside the facility. Physical demands are moderate and may include walking, standing for extended periods of time, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping and the ability to lift 50 pounds without injury to self or others. The ability to reason, speak, and have basic manual dexterity is essential. This position has a Category 1 Risk of exposure to bio-hazardous materials. Persons in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases, falls, and muscle strains. Working hours and days may fluctuate based on the needs of the department and organization.
