Job Opening: Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Histocompatibility Lab

Shift: Night, 08 Hour Shift

Job Description: Histocompatibility Lab is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform highly complex human histocompatibility testing for organ transplantation in our serological laboratory. This is an overnight shift, Monday to Friday, 10:30pm - 7:00am. The role involves HLA antibody identification, crossmatching, test specimen analysis, result interpretation, quality control monitoring, troubleshooting, and serving as a technical resource for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform HLA antibody identification and crossmatching
• Analyze, interpret, and report test results
• Investigate quality control trends
• Provide training and evaluations to technicians
• Participate in lab projects and lead training initiatives

Requirements:

• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license required
• Experience in HLA testing preferred
• Prior hands-on testing experience in a clinical or histocompatibility lab

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a life science
• Advanced knowledge of clinical sample testing
• Ability to interpret and synthesize results accurately
• Effective communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership potential

Licenses and Certifications:

• CLS MTA: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist required
• CLS MTR: California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist required
• Note: Out-of-state candidates may qualify with MLS (ASCP) or CHT/CHS (ACHI) certification. Training will be provided for candidates without prior HLA experience.
