The Med/Surg Clinical Nurse Lead Registered Nurse (CNL) is a leadership role designed to influence, support, and empower the inpatient bedside staff to provide exceptional care in an environment where our patients, community, and employees thrive. The Clinical Nurse Lead brings operational structure, strong clinical skills, education/empowerment facilitation, and effective leadership during the inpatient nursing shift. The CNL is skilled at managing shift operations, providing direct care, attending to critical situations, and assessing, training, and facilitating the nursing staff to function safely, independently, and cohesively as a team. The CNL oversees adherence to requirements and excellent clinical practice during the designated shifts. The CNL participates in the inpatient unit council and is actively engaged in clinical process improvement. The CNL collaborates with the Unit Director and inpatient clinical team to create and uphold a culture of Safety, Empathy, Respect, Vision, Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
