Nestled in the heart of Humboldt County, Fortuna is known as "The Friendly City," offering a charming small-town feel with access to stunning natural beauty, including redwood forests, the Eel River, and the nearby Pacific Coast. This community-focused organization delivers mission-driven care with a high-performing dental team in a growing practice setting.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual compensation range: $183,000 to $225,000
  • $5,000 annual company credit card for licensing, DEA, CE, and equipment (includes custom-fitted loupes)
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus
  • $10,000 relocation reimbursement
  • Additional $10,000 relocation for parent or in-law
  • 29 days of paid time off (includes CME, holidays, sick time)
  • Benefits begin the first of the month following start date

  • Strong mentorship and onboarding (6-month program)
  • Loan repayment options through NHSC and other federal programs, offering between $75,000 and $300,000 with a two- to five-year service commitment
  • Language differential pay available for Spanish-speaking providers

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive general dentistry services to pediatric and adult patients (50/50 split)
  • Perform routine and complex procedures, including extractions and molars (impacted preferred but not required)
  • Collaborate with a large dental team and support staff in a team-based environment
  • Refer complex pediatric cases to in-house pediatric dentist as needed
  • Maintain a full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM or four 10-hour shifts (7 AM to 6 PM)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care meetings

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
  • Active California dental license or eligibility to obtain
  • Comfortable treating children and adults
  • Experience with complex procedures preferred
  • Commitment to community health and mission-driven care
