- ASAP - Ongoing Need
- Looking for at least 3 full-time providers to provide 24-hour coverage
- Onsite shift coverage will be Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
- Call coverage 5pm-8am Monday-Friday
- Weekend call starting at 5pm and ending Monday at 8am
- Call Coverage Details:
- Physicians are not required to remain onsite during call support, provided the circumstances do not necessitate their physical presence in the hospital
Situations Requiring On-Call Locum GI Physician:Endoscopic Procedures: If an emergent GI procedure (e.g., endoscopy, colonoscopy) is required for a patient in critical conditionGastrointestinal Bleeding: Active gastrointestinal bleeding cases requiring urgent interventionObstructions/Perforations: Suspected or confirmed bowel obstructions or perforations that need immediate evaluation and managementConsultations: Calls from the Emergency Department (ED), other medical teams, or specialists requiring GI expertise, including but not limited to issues like pancreatitis, liver failure, or other gastrointestinal emergenciesPost-Operative Complications: Management of post-operative GI complications, such as leaks, infections, or issues following surgery (e.g., bariatric surgery, colectomy)Physician Oversight:Physicians are not required to oversee or sign off on routine care provided by non-GI specialists (e.g., general physicians, residents) unless the patient is involved in the situations listed abovePhysicians will be required to intervene or oversee care for conditions within their specialty (e.g., gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, post-surgical complications) but will not be expected to manage non-GI-related medical conditions unless the situation necessitates itAccepted Call Back Situations:Consultation for Gastrointestinal Bleeding: Less than 90 minutesEndoscopic Procedure (e.g., EGD, Colonoscopy): Approximately 1-2 hoursManagement of GI Obstruction/Perforation: Up to 2 hoursPost-Operative Care for GI Patients: Times vary based on severity, but generally under 3 hoursAssigned/Unassigned Patients15 Minutes Call Response Time Required, Onsite 30 MinutesCall Ratio: 1:3Admissions RequiredHospital Stroke CertifiedBoard Certified/Board Eligible RequiredActive NC License RequiredFellowship PreferredBLS RequiredEMR: Athena/CernerAllow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!What RecruitWell Provides:A rated malpracticeWeekly direct deposit24/7 dedicated recruiter supportProfessional onboarding and credentialingPrepaid Travel and LodgingRecruitWell's Core Values:Open communicationSense of urgencyTeamworkAccountabilityDriven to winHigher consciousness
