Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality health services including the provision of health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of the Community including home visits
  • Perform consultations and procedures in line with best practice, MBS guidelines, and Bullinah’s appointment model/client journey/clinical protocol documents.
  • Incorporate preventative care into patient management with a strong focus on ATSI health assessments
  • Use Bullinah’s Patient Information Management Systems to record all client interactions
  • Work as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
  • Prepare reports, legal summaries, and correspondence for Government Departments
  • Attend clinical team and GP meetings as required.
  • Contribute to meeting Bullinah’s Key Performance Indicators in relation chronic disease and preventative health
  • Comply with all organisational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Medical registration with AHPRA and Medical Indemnity Insurance.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the health and wellbeing issues that exist within Aboriginal communities.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to cultural safety
  • An excellent knowledge of Medicare and MBS Schedules, especially Health Assessment and
  • Chronic Care items, to optimize all Medicare claims in an ethical manner.
  • An understanding of the roles of allied Health Professionals within conventional and non conventional parameters
  • An excellent understanding of community support structures essential to health care delivery.
  • Knowledge of the RACGP 5th edition standards, relevant legislation, and other statutory requirements.
  • Commitment to professional upgrading of qualifications as required for Continuing Professional Development
  • Registration as a Medical Doctor with AHPRA with relevant qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Current NSW ‘C” class Drivers Licence.
  • National Police Check Clearance.
  • Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • FRACGP fellowship or Vocational Registration
  • Unconditional Registration as a Medical Doctor with AHPRA
