Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine in Alaska

Join a dedicated team focused on serving our nation's Veterans. We are seeking General Medicine Providers to conduct Compensation & Pension exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments. This role offers the chance to work on a PRN basis within your own office location, contributing to a vital mission in Veteran care.

Current Opportunities:

• Juneau or Sitka - Half-day per week needed (within 50-mile radius)
• Delta Junction - 2 days per week needed (within 75-mile radius)

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Perform primarily interview-based assessments with some physical evaluations, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete required reports and any addendums associated with the exams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide necessary administrative follow-ups.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
• Must own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
• Strong communication skills for conducting patient interviews.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted full license for the state of Alaska.
• Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).
• Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
