Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine in New York

Join a dynamic healthcare practice dedicated to serving the nation's veterans. This locum opportunity involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in your own office location with requirements in Ithaca and Trumansburg, NY. The focus is on providing high-quality, interview-based evaluations with minimal physical assessments, ensuring our veterans receive the care and attention they deserve.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
• Perform interview-based examinations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete documentation and submit reports, including any necessary addendums.
• Work on a PRN basis, with flexibility to choose between half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
• Collaborate closely with a team dedicated to veteran care.

Qualifications:

• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
• Proficient in METs testing; capable of evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Must own a laptop (non-Mac/Apple).
• Ability to complete DMA training for certification.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to veteran care.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York.
• AANP certification required.
