US Got People (USGP) is currently seeking a PRN Internal Medicine Physician to provide high-quality medical services to our military veterans and their families at the VA facility in Marion, Indiana. Position Details:
- Employment Type: PRN (As Needed)
- Schedule Coverage:
- Monday-Friday: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
- Weekends: Saturday 12:00 AM - Monday 8:00 AM (entire weekend coverage)
- 11 Federal Holidays
- Compensation: Highly Competitive Pay Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
- Licensure:
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia
- Board Certification:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Internal Medicine Immunization Requirements (must be current or willing to obtain):
- Hepatitis B (series and titer)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- TB (Tuberculosis) Test
- Seasonal Influenza Vaccine
- COVID-19 Vaccine (if applicable) Key Responsibilities:
You will provide urgent and emergent care services, including evaluation, treatment, stabilization, and transfer as needed, for a wide range of medical conditions and situations:
- General Urgent & Emergent Care: Life/limb threat triage, resuscitation, and stabilization
- Minor Illnesses & Injuries: Wounds, burns, respiratory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, dermatological, ENT, urological, and eye conditions
- Minor Procedures:
- Local anesthesia, I&D, simple laceration repair
- Catheterization, venous access, spinal immobilization, gastric lavage
- Abdominal & GI Disorders: Initial management and stabilization of esophageal, gastric, bowel, liver, and pancreas issues
- Cardiovascular Conditions: Chest pain, arrhythmias, CHF, ACS, tamponade, SVT, A-fib with RVR
- Toxicology & Environmental Injuries: Allergic reactions, bites, chemical exposure, hypothermia, electrical injuries, radiation
- Hematologic Issues: Anemia, coagulopathies, and oncologic emergencies
- Endocrine & Metabolic Conditions: Acid-base disturbances, adrenal/parathyroid issues
- Head & Neck Disorders: ENT, facial trauma, intracranial emergencies (e.g., SAH, hematomas)
- Ophthalmology: Initial management of urgent eye disorders
- Musculoskeletal: Sprains, fractures, arthropathies
- Neurological Emergencies: Stroke, coma, cerebral edema, CNS infections
- Other Duties: Charting, timely documentation, coordination with care teams Why Work with USGP?
