LAB Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer II

Volt is immediately hiring a Lab Research Chemist in Maplewood, MN with a well-known industry leader. In this role you will assume responsibility for initiating and performing defined technical activities leading to new or improve products, processes or technologies on a program basis. This is a first shift position. As a Lab Research Chemist you will: Initiate and complete technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes which have significant impact potential at a program level. Establish and cultivate a network of support (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering sales and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments. Participate in project planning, and documents experimental data/observations in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files), prepares reports, and makes oral presentations. Planning and executing small batch experiments with polymers Performing sample testing, including tensile & elongation, DSC, DMA, rheometry, etc. Summarizing test data and providing feedback on the quality of the results. Working closely with technical team members to complete tasks This is a full-time contingent opportunity Estimated Duration 24+ months The ideal candidate will have: 1-2 years of experience in processing polymeric materials in a laboratory environment Experience in material characterization Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in a lab environment Strong drive to for proper lab housekeeping and cleanliness Mechanical aptitude 4-Year College Degree, ideally in the STEM field (specifically Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, etc. Pay Rate: $29.00-30.53 per hour Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
