Title: MRI Tech Location: Rancho Mirage, CA Duration: 3 Months (Extension will depend on the manager) This is going to be Friday - Sunday (17:30 to 5:00 ) Night Shift and 12 hours per day. This is going to be 36 hours - 40 hours a week. (Manager will schedule the shift accordingly) Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. Performs MRI procedures of high technical quality. Utilizes proper protection for patient safety. Proficient in use of all equipment reporting all deficiencies to immediate supervisor Obtains all pertinent medical information from patient to perform appropriate procedures. Assists in other areas of department as assigned and takes additional procedures during periods of heavy workload. Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigation. Participates in pertinent continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences for professional growth and development. Provides support based on the age of the patient and family, explains procedures, answers questions, utilizes appropriate distraction techniques and maximizes the patient's comfort level during the procedure. Provides accurate and thorough documentation in the computer system Stocks assigned procedure room on a daily basis and submits timely requests for needed supplies. Moves patient appropriately from Gurney to Table and from table to Gurney. Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered, Assists Radiologist performing procedure. Maintains cleanliness of all Radiology equipment and rooms while maintaining adequate stock of supplies. Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms. Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed. Prepares patient for procedure including positive patient identification and verification of physician orders. Adhere to safety guidelines for working in magnetic field. Practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills: Required: Requires the ability to read, write and speak English effectively. Required: ARRT Required: BLS Preferred: Venipuncture certification preferred. MRI certification, CRT if technologist performs CT scans. Required: At least two years radiological experience in an acute care hospital, including critical or proficiency in one of the following imaging related modalities :CT, MRI or Special Procedures. Requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e. Neonates to geriatric). Good interpersonal skills, which include assisting patients and families. Effective communication, using age specific techniques, to assure that patients follow proper instructions to obtain the best outcome. Education: Associate degree in Radiology Technology or completion of AMA approved hospital-based
