Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Neonatology, in the Department of Pediatrics of Albany Medical College, and the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. We are seeking an outstanding board-certified/board-eligible Neonatologist to join a comprehensive clinical program dedicated to the diagnosis, care, and management of infants.

The Division of Neonatology provides patient care in a culturally diverse, family centered 60 bed single/twin room NICU. As a New York State-designated Regional Perinatal Center and the only major academic center in the area, we are the resource for 13,000 deliveries a year in the region. We offer:

  • Full-service NICU facility
  • Support from the entire spectrum of Pediatric and Pediatric surgical specialists
  • High-risk perinatal unit, air and ground transport services to all of northeastern NY
  • Fellowship program and a High-Risk Infant Follow-up Program

The Division consists of 11 neonatologists and 24 advanced practice providers.

  • The NICU admits more than 800 infants each year including 250 transfers.
  • Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology delivers 2200 infants a year with a large cohort of high-risk mothers requiring neonatal services for their infants.
  • The faculty are active participants in several quality collaboratives:
    • Vermont Oxford Network (VON)
    • Solutions for Patient Safety
    • Children's Hospital Association
    • The New York State Perinatal Centers Collaborative
    • New York Throughway Neonatal Collaborative
  • Educational activities include teaching roles with:
    • Fellows and residents from our Pediatric and Med-Peds programs
    • Students from the Albany Medical College's medical student and physician assistant, and regional nurse practitioner programs.
  • Scholarly and research areas: include, for example, quality science, ventilator management, neuro-NICU and HIE, and impact of obesity on neonatal outcomes.

For assistant professor ranked faculty, the salary range is $240,000-$250,000 commensurate with experience.

For higher ranked faculty, salary range would be discussed upon interview.

The Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital is a children's hospital within a larger academic health system. It is the only Children's Hospital for 80 counties in upstate NY and serves children's and families in southwest VT and Western MA. Faculty and staff can work on diverse, interdisciplinary teams and teach learners at all levels. It has 130 beds, including the 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU, and in addition, a pediatric emergency department and behavioral health unit. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology delivers 2200 infants a year with a large cohort of high-risk mothers requiring neonatal services for their infants.

The Albany Med Health System is the only regionally governed not-for-profit health system serving northeastern New York and western New England. It consists of Albany Medical Center, Albany Medical College, the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses.
