Neurosurgical Physician Associate position in Kailua Hawaii.

Hawaii Brain and Spine is a private neurosurgery practice with close affiliation to Adventist Castle Hospital in Kailua Hawaii. The position will be working closely in the OR as first assist and in a clinic with one neurosurgeon.

Hawaii Brain and Spine is seeking a full-time experienced physician assistant for a mix of operative and outpatient responsibilities working closely with the neurosurgeon. We are looking for a dedicated experienced professional with excellent care and communication skills and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to the people of Windward Hawaii.

Position Highlights:

  • First assist in spine and brain surgical procedures.
  • Provide pre and post-operative care for neurosurgical patients including H&Ps, and hospital care and discharge.
  • Support outpatient clinics with new patient evaluations, follow-ups.
  • High degree of collaboration with specialists, including neurosurgeons, hospitalist, pain management physicians, as well as staff.
  • Monday Friday schedule with intermittent light weekend call coverage.
  • High degree of collaboration with specialists and staff

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited PA program
  • Bachelor's degree, Masters degree preferred
  • NCCPA certification
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Hawaii
  • Minimum 2 years of post-training experience in an neurology setting
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card
  • Minimum two (2) year Physician Assistant experience in an neurology setting
