Northwell Health s Department of Neurology - Epilepsy Division, the largest epileptologist program in the nation, is seeking epileptologists to join our multi-disciplinary team. As we expand neurological services across the Northwell Health System, we are seeking full-time BC/BE Epilepsy Physicians with opportunities available at the following locations:

Manhattan

  • Lenox Hill Hospital

Nassau County

  • North Shore University Hospital (Manhasset)

Staten Island

  • Staten Island University Hospital

Westchester

  • Northern Westchester Hospital

About the Program

Northwell Health s Epilepsy program currently has two hospitals with Level 4 NAEC center accreditations (North Shore University Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital) and two hospitals with Level 3 NAEC center accreditations (South Shore University Hospital and Staten Island University Hospital).

The Department of Neurology has seen tremendous growth over the past five years across all regions, with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services. Inclusion within the service line offers the opportunity to connect with a large group of neurologists, academic, teaching, world class grand rounds, conferences and the ability to discuss and share cases with experts in every subspecialty. At Northwell Health s Institute for Neurology, we have three hospitals ranked in the top 50 in U.S News & World Report (North Shore University Hospital being the highest at in the nation) as well as four comprehensive stroke programs, 11 primary stroke centers and 1 thrombectomy capable center.

Position Highlights

Our interdisciplinary team of nationally recognized experts consists of specialty-trained epilepsy neurologists and epileptologists, neurosurgeons, nurses and nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers and electroencephalogram (EEG) technicians. We use the most advanced treatments available for evaluating epilepsy, preventing seizures and treating comorbidities affecting individuals with epilepsy. The Department of Neurology brings together the vast resources of Northwell Health and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell to provide state-of-the-art care while contributing to research initiatives. In addition, there are no general neurology expectations for this role.

Candidate Qualifications:

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • D. Degree from an accredited institution (ACGME or equivalent)
  • Completion of Neurology Residency and Epilepsy Fellowship.
  • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology and Epilepsy
  • Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of New York
