Position Title: Nurse Practitioner 

Department: Primary Care 

Reports To: Medical Director  

POSITION SUMMARY 

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary healthcare services to patients, including diagnosing and treating common acute illnesses and injuries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES 

 

  1. Performs physical examinations, employing a combination of nursing and medical functions approved by standardized procedures. 
  1. Diagnoses, treats and prescribes medications under the supervision of the Medical Director and in according to Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice. 
  2. Orders lab and diagnostic work in conformance with the Medical Director’s written protocol for the treatment of specific illnesses or diseases. 
  1. Performs minor lacerations, as ordered and supervised by the Medical Director and his/her protocol. 
  1. Provides patients and their families with education, comfort, and relative information in accordance with their medical care as needed. 
  1. Review laboratory values and diagnostic tests in a manner appropriate to the standard of care. 
  1. In case of a patient with an emergency, administer all appropriate care and insure appropriate transfer of care to appropriate level of care via emergency medical system. 
  1. Discharge patients from the clinic with appropriate instructions and follow up care. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

Completion of a professional advance practice nurse course at an accredited college and certification and licensing by the State of California Board of Registered Nurses. 

One (1) consecutive year’s experience in a medical and/or psychiatric facility with experience in the care of the family and or internal medicine.
