Position Summary

Join a physician-led women s health group serving the Bloomington Normal region of Central Illinois. This full-spectrum OBGYN role is built for surgeons who value team-based care, VBAC-supportive pathways, and reliable OR time. You ll collaborate with a large CNM cohort and WHNPs, practice across multiple clinic sites, and operate at two modern hospitals with dedicated L&D resources and robotics.

Why this role stands out

  • CNM first-call + home call: Midwives take first call; physician call is home-based ( 1:6 1:7), with adjusted post-call clinic when overnight events warrant.
  • Protected surgical time: Weekly OR block; MIGS and robotics available through hospital platforms.
  • Integrated services: Embedded pelvic-floor physical therapy and counseling support the full continuum of women s health.
  • Growth with stability: W-2 employment, partnership eligibility after 2 years (buy-in), and a compensation plan that rewards production without sacrificing safety or teamwork.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver full-scope OBGYN: prenatal care, intrapartum management within a CNM-collaborative model, postpartum care, gynecologic surgery (MIGS/robotics), and office procedures.
  • Practice evidence-based, VBAC-supportive obstetrics with clear escalation and co-management pathways.
  • Perform common GYN procedures: hysteroscopy, D&C, diagnostic/operative laparoscopy, and complex hysterectomy as appropriate.
  • Participate in team-based quality initiatives focused on access, safety, and patient experience.
  • Share call with the group; collaborate closely with CNMs, WHNPs, nursing, and hospital partners.
Schedule & Volumes
  • Clinic cadence: typically 3 clinic days/week ( patients/day)
  • Surgery: 1 OR day/week (block time), robotics available
  • Deliveries: per month per physician (midwives manage routine labor; physicians focus on higher-acuity care and operative delivery)
  • Sites of care: six clinic locations in Central Illinois; main hub in the Bloomington Normal area
  • Hospitals: two local hospitals with dedicated L&D units, OB OR access, and Level II neonatal capability
Team & Resources
  • Current team: 5 OBGYN physicians, 7 CNMs, 4 WHNPs, pelvic-floor PT, and a psychotherapist
  • Care model: CNM primary management with MD backup/collaboration; clear consult triggers and escalation protocols
  • Support: MA/scribe support model, defined inbox time during clinic, and a triage framework that routes after-hours patient messages appropriately
Technology
  • Outpatient EMR: eClinicalWorks
  • Inpatient EMR: Epic
  • Patient portal and modern scheduling tools that prioritize access and continuity
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: up to $350,000 plus (experience-indexed, negotiable)
  • Productivity: % of margin (margin defined as collections after expenses per agreement); begins after month 12
  • Sign-on: $25,000
  • Relocation: assistance provided
  • CME: $5,000 annually + 1 week
  • Retirement: 401(k) match + profit sharing
  • Time off: 4 weeks PTO + 1 week CME + 7 holidays
  • Benefits: comprehensive health package; malpractice coverage provided
  • Employment: W-2 status; partnership eligibility after 2 years (buy-in)
  • Visa support: J-1/H-1B/TN considered

Note: Productivity typically starts in month 13. Year-2 productivity pays on positive margin per the agreement. Worked examples are provided during the offer stage so the math is transparent.
