The Columbia University Irving Medical Center s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has long been a leader in advancing women s reproductive health care. We are the birthplace of the Apgar score for assessing newborn health, the first institution in the country to perform an amniocentesis test, and the center that created RhoGAM, which has virtually eradicated Rh-incompatibility reactions that once accounted for hundreds of fetal and neonatal deaths and illnesses each year.

Job Description
The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible hospitalist to join our established academic practice.

We welcome applicants who are Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialists with an inpatient focus or experienced OB/GYN specialists with demonstrated expertise in hospital-based obstetric care. The qualified candidate may be a Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialist or an experienced obstetrician.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate should have broad experience in all aspects of inpatient obstetric care, including labor and delivery, antepartum and postpartum management, and obstetric emergencies. Candidates should be skilled in the care of high-risk pregnancies and comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Clinical responsibilities include labor and delivery coverage, antepartum and postpartum care, participation in rapid response and obstetric emergency management, and collaboration with MFM subspecialists, OB/GYN specialists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Academic responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in teaching activities with medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as participation in quality improvement initiatives, simulation training, and departmental research activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Degree
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
Minimum Qualifications
  • New York Medical License eligible
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified.
  • Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Fellowship in Maternal Medicine
