Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Sumo Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Prescott Valley, Arizona. This position offers ongoing 24-hour in-house coverage at a Family Birthing Center, with competitive rates and full support throughout the credentialing and onboarding process.

Position Details:

• Location: YRMC East Campus - Family Birthing Center
• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house coverage
• Availability: 10-12 shifts per month
• Estimated Deliveries: 950 annually (approx. 2.6/day)
• Duties: Cover all triage, LDRP, and GYN patients (ED and inpatient)
• Support Staff: L&D RNs, NNPs, anesthesia, OR staff
• EMR: Cerner
• NICU Level: CCN (32+ weeks); high-risk deliveries are transferred as appropriate
• GYN/OR Volume: Typically 1 or fewer cases per 24-hour shift
• Private Practice Relationship: Complete assumption of care; emergency backup via CMO if needed

Requirements:

• Licensure: AZ state license or IMLC
• Certifications: DEA (ACLS, BLS, PALS not required due to 24/7 NNP availability)
• Residency/Fellowship: Required
• Malpractice History: Clean preferred
• Board Certification: Required or Eligible
• Availability: Must be available at time of name clear

Travel & Lodging:

• Preferred Hotels: Springhill or Hassayampa
• Air Travel: Local flights available via United Airlines; Phoenix as alternative
• Travel Exceptions: Must be disclosed during provider submission

Credentialing:

• Timeframe: 3 months (may be expedited)
• Requirements: Board Certified/Eligible
• Billing Enrollment: Not replacing an enrolled provider
