Position Overview:
We have an immediate need for a Therapeutic Medical Physicist to provide Radiation Oncology care for our veteran population at the East Orange VA Medical Cetner located in East Orange, NJ. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on veterans lives while experiencing the unique beauty and excitement just outside Manhattan.
Must have completed a residency in therapeutic medical physics and be Board Certified through either the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP).
Core Responsibilities:
⢠Conventional Radiation Treatment
o Design, optimize, and technically evaluate radiation treatment plans as well as ensuring precise and accurate radiation dose are delivered. Medical Physicists are responsible for radiation protection of patients and staff.
o Shall specify and monitor method(s) to calculate MUs or treatment times and ensure independent review(s) of such calculations
o Shall develop and maintain a method for the weekly and systematic review of the charts of all patients under radiation treatment.
o Shall provide information on specification and selection in support of VA s acquisition of radiation-producing machines, accessories, and computerized treatment planning systems in consultation with the NROP office.
o Additional responsibilities included
Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
Hours & Schedule:
Normal Clinic Hours 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday
