BayCare Medical Group is a physician-led medical group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our multidisciplinary team at St. Joseph s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children from infancy through adolescence across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings

The details of the position include:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric GI conditions, including IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, hepatology, nutritional disorders, and motility issues.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures: upper/lower GI endoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, liver biopsies, G-tube placements, motility studies.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and manage ambulatory clinics in both main and satellite locations.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, psychologists, hepatologists, primary care providers, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage in education mentoring pediatric residents.
  • Provide on-call coverage 1:3 for emergencies, including foreign body ingestion, GI bleeding, and liver crises.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and comply with documentation, billing, and regulatory standards.

Position requires:

  • Board Certification or Eligibility by the ABIM in Gastroenterology.
  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.
  • Eligible for/holds an active Florida medical license.
  • Proficient in pediatric endoscopy and procedural care.
  • Experience with IBD, hepatology, nutritional rehab/motility preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to counsel children and families.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical and academic environment.
