The University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital pediatric urology service is staffed by Iowa's only team of board-certified pediatric urologists. We are ranked among the nation's top 50 programs by U.S. News & World Report , with a long history of advancing the field of pediatric urology through innovative patient care and forward-looking research. Our pediatric urology team serves patients at our main Iowa City campus as well as at outreach locations in Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Bettendorf, and Dubuque.
Established in 1919, University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital is Iowa's only comprehensive children's hospital. Our state-of-the-art, 205-bed main facility in Iowa City, opened in 2017 and built using a patient- and family-centered design, includes eight operating rooms, six procedure suites, and Iowa's only Level 4 NICU. Our team of more than 200 pediatric physicians and dentists and more than 100 advanced practice providers serves over 100,000 patients each year at our main Iowa City location and at four outreach locations around the state.
