Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication management for our patients. Your expertise in pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and patient counseling will be instrumental in optimizing medication therapies and promoting positive health outcomes. Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Dispensing and Verification:

    • Review and dispense prescribed medications accurately, ensuring the correct dosage and appropriate drug interactions.
    • Verify medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols.
  2. Medication Therapy Management:

    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapies and resolve any medication-related issues.
    • Monitor patients' responses to medications and adjust dosages as necessary to achieve desired therapeutic outcomes.
  3. Patient Counseling and Education:

    • Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
    • Educate patients on proper medication adherence and management to promote medication safety and compliance.
  4. Medication Inventory Management:

    • Oversee medication inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels and proper storage conditions.
    • Order and restock medications as needed, adhering to pharmacy regulations and guidelines.
  5. Pharmacy Compliance and Regulatory Responsibilities:

    • Maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Participate in quality assurance programs and medication error reporting to improve patient safety.
  6. Drug Utilization Review:

    • Perform drug utilization reviews to identify potential drug-related problems and recommend appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state.
  • Solid knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and medication management.
  • Excellent communication and counseling skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure medication accuracy.
