About the position: As a Pharmacist at Madison Health, you will be 
responsible for providing timely, accurate and cost effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of the Ohio Pharmacist Practice Act. The registered pharmacist is accountable for the delivery of pharmaceutical care within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.   This is a full-time, day shift position. Position will be located on our Main Campus as well as CHF Clinic and Coumadin Clinic in our Primary Care office here in London.    
 
 Key job qualities/duties:

  • Reviews all medication orders and prescriptions for: patient allergies or potential sensitivities; existing or potential interactions between the medication ordered and food and medications the patient is currently taking; the appropriateness of the drug, dose frequency and route of administration; current or potential impact as indicated by laboratory values; therapeutic duplication; other contraindications; variation from the organization's approved indications (criteria) for use. 
  • Provides drug information to  physicians, nurses, patients and other healthcare professionals. Advises others on proper methods and cautions associated with all medications.
  • Directs pharmacy personnel engaged in admixing, packaging, stocking, purchasing and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality control, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Reviews and monitors drug therapy that requires dosing adjustments as authorized by the physician.
  • Enters data into the hospital computer system to maintain patient profiles and charge system.

What qualifications are we looking for?

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio required.
