Responsibilities:

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing neurosurgery team. The PA will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to patients with complex neurological and spine disorders. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, assisting in both surgical and non-surgical management. The PA will support the Neurosurgeons at affiliated hospitals in rotation. The primary responsibilities include outpatient clinic twice per week, in-hospital rounds, and surgical assist in neurosurgical cases.

The ideal candidate will join a collaborative team comprised of Neurosurgeons and Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation for neurosurgery consults
  • Assist in the management of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative neurosurgery patients
  • First assist certification, required
  • Experience in Neurosurgery, preferred
  • Full Time; 5 days per week plus one weekend per month of call
  • Outpatient clinic 2 days per week
  • Weekend call coverage, with Attending, one weekend per month
  • Annual Salary: $118K - $128K

Education/Training

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program
  • Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Current Illinois physician assistant license in good standing
  • Certified as a physician assistant by an approved certifying organization.
  • Prescriptive authority, Illinois Controlled Substance, DEA certification
  • Current CPR certification

$118000.00 / Annually - $128000.00 / Annually
