Responsibilities

  • Seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team in an outpatient setting.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with board-certified surgeons, supporting a wide range of procedures.
  • This role involves direct patient care, pre- and post-operative evaluations, minor procedures, patient education, and care coordination.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and preoperative evaluations.
  • Manage post-operative care and follow-up visits, including wound care and suture/staple removal.
  • Assist in minor in-office procedures and injections under the supervision of a plastic surgeon
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR system.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and long-term care.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advances in plastic and reconstructive surgery practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted PA license in Virginia
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
  • Valid DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in surgical specialties preferred; new graduates with strong surgical rotations may be considered
  • Strong clinical skills in wound management and surgical care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • EMR proficiency (e.g., Epic experience is a plus)
