JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Cardiologist (Non-Invasive) Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: San Francisco, CA Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 12/01/ weeks (6 months, option to extend) Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 8:00a 5:00p (5x8s)COVERAGE DATES 12/01/2025 6 months (minimum 2 weeks per month)PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 2530 echos/day Admissions: Included if inpatient rounding option chosen Rounding: Available for providers with academic background Phone Consults: Yes, cardiology attending and interventional cardiologist always available Case Mix: Inpatient and outpatient echocardiography, emergent and high-acuity echosFACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Standard echo and hospital equipment Specialty Backup Available: Interventional cardiology and inpatient cardiology attending Support Staff Available: Echo technologists and cardiology support team Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coveragePRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Emergency privileges may be available ( 30 days if no malpractice history) Credentialing Timeline: 6090 days Orientation: 24 hours, billableCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: CoveredREQUIRED PROCEDURES Transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) Inpatient and outpatient echocardiographic imagingJOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active California license (Required) Board: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease DEA: Active CA DEA with Schedule II authority (Required) Certifications: BLS (Required); Advanced Echocardiography Level III certification preferred Experience: Recent experience reading high volumes of echos required Other Qualifications: Experience working with diverse populations preferred; teaching strongly preferred; bilingual a plus; willing to consider new gradsDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide non-invasive cardiology services focused on echocardiography (inpatient and outpatient) Perform 2530 echocardiographic studies per day (TTE and TEE) Option to participate in inpatient rounding for those with academic medical center background Collaborate with echo technologists, cardiology attending, and interventional cardiology team Engage in teaching activities as part of the academic medical center environment Document all patient care accurately in the Epic EMR system
