Job Title: Contract Physician (FCI Bastrop)Location: FCI Bastrop, 1341 HWY 95 N, Bastrop, TX 78602Position Summary:J.R. Enterprise is currently seeking a qualified and licensed Physician to provide comprehensive medical services at Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Bastrop in Bastrop, Texas. The Physician will deliver care in the Health Services Department under a government contract, supporting Adults in Custody (AICs) with a range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health services. This is a contract position with a flexible weekly schedule and on-call requirements.Place of Performance:FCI Bastrop1341 HWY 95 N, Bastrop, TX 78602Services will be performed on-site within the Health Services Department.Schedule & Hours:Estimated 16 one-hour sessions per week, not to exceed 24 hours per week.Work to be conducted Monday through Friday, between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, excluding Federal Holidays.Contractor may work 3 days/week for 40 weeks, or 2 days/week for 52 weeks annually.Up to 240 total workdays over a 24-month period.Each day worked counts as one workday regardless of number of hours.Includes on-call availability with 60-minute response time.Note: Delays due to security or institutional issues (e.g., lockdowns, weather) may occur. Compensation for partial sessions will follow institutional guidelines.Key Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic medical services for AICs.Take medical histories, conduct physical exams, and order/interpret tests and imaging.Provide diagnosis, treatment planning, and prescribe medications.Perform minor surgeries and emergency medical interventions as needed.Manage clinic operations and conduct daily sick calls.Maintain accurate medical records and progress notes.Collaborate with staff and consulting physicians on patient care.Assess early signs of serious physical, emotional, or mental health issues.Recommend and facilitate referrals for necessary external consultation or treatment.Ensure continuity of care in emergency and routine situations.Adhere to institutional policies and safety standards.On-Call/Call Back:Must be available to return calls within 60 minutes when on-call.On-call responsibilities are essential for maintaining institutional health and safety.Qualifications:Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas.No negative employment termination within the last 36 months.Must meet all federal vouchering and credentialing requirements as outlined in Civilian Personnel Manual 3000.02.Must provide documentation of:Medical license and credentialsMalpractice insuranceContinuing Medical Education (CME)Proof of qualifications and work experienceMust pass a security clearance and medical background screening.
