Job Summary:
Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Psychiatrist, where you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management, while also engaging in public behavioral health education initiatives. We are looking for a dedicated professional who is passionate about helping others and committed to ongoing staff training and development. Your expertise will contribute to program evaluation and grant applications, enhancing our services and outreach.

As a Psychiatrist, you will examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients, ensuring comprehensive follow-up care and participating in emergency services to provide rapid aid during emotional crises. Your role will also involve collaboration with a diverse patient population and support for Nurse Practitioners, fellows, residents, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients with mental health and/or addiction medicine concerns.

  • Provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management services.

  • Participate in emergency services to offer rapid aid during emotional crises.

  • Ensure comprehensive follow-up care for all clients.

  • Join client staffing meetings to identify problems and establish treatment goals.

  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and staff development activities.

  • Support management needs, including data collection and program evaluation.

  • Engage in public and community behavioral health education through various initiatives.

  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-up appointments in a timely manner.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation for physicians (voluntary and for additional compensation).

  • Collaborate and provide support to assigned Nurse Practitioners, fellows, residents, and students.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Completion of a residency program in psychiatry.

  • Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry or child and adolescent psychiatry.

  • Valid medical license to practice in the applicable state/province.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex documents and using an electronic health record system.

  • Ability to establish effective relationships via telephone, telemedicine, or in-person contacts.

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: The role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Manual dexterity is needed to use hands and fingers for writing, typing, and manipulating controls. Must be able to reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. Occasionally, the employee may need to walk or run up and down stairs during crises or emergencies. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Work Environment: The work environment can be stressful and fast-paced. The noise level is typically moderate. The incumbent must be willing to serve a diverse population, including individuals with conflicting views.
