Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing team within the newly developed Adult and Youth EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) Units. These specialized 12-bed units are designed to offer rapid, trauma-informed psychiatric care to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises in a calm, therapeutic setting. As a key member of a multidisciplinary care team, the NP will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for both adult and pediatric patients in crisis. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking model of emergency psychiatric care, while serving a diverse and underserved population in the Inland Empire region.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for patients in both the adult and youth EmPATH units.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, nursing staff, and peer specialists to stabilize patients and support timely discharge or transfer.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and contribute to a cohesive, team-based approach to crisis care.
- Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive practices in all patient interactions.
- Document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in shift handoffs, safety huddles, and unit-based quality improvement efforts as appropriate.
Qualifications: - Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in California or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start.
- Master s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialty in psychiatric/mental health.
- Experience in emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or crisis stabilization is preferred.
- Comfortable working across the lifespan with both adult and youth populations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, equitable care to underserved communities.

Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $150,000-$170,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
