ER Of Mesquite, TX is looking for one registered nurse to join our strong team. We are located on 1745 N Belt Line Rd. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.

Responsibilities

Assess and prioritize incoming patients based on the severity of their conditions.

Perform rapid assessments to identify life-threatening conditions requiring immediate intervention.

Conduct thorough physical assessments, including checking vital signs, mental status, and symptoms.

Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status (e.g., vital signs, pain levels, respiratory distress).

Perform ongoing assessments of critical patients, adjusting care plans as necessary.

Administer medications, including intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), oral, and subcutaneous medications, according to physician orders.

Monitor for adverse reactions to medications and respond accordingly.

Maintain accurate documentation of all medications given and patient responses.

Conduct CLIA waived point-of-care tests to assist in rapid diagnosis, including:

  • Blood glucose monitoring.
  • Urinalysis (dipstick method).
  • Rapid strep tests.
  • Pregnancy tests (urine-based hCG).
  • Rapid influenza tests.
  • Fecal occult blood testing.

Interpret test results and report findings to the healthcare provider for further action.

Ensure proper documentation of all test results in the patient’s medical record.

Start and maintain intravenous (IV) lines for fluid therapy and medication administration.

Provide life-saving interventions, such as CPR, defibrillation, and advanced airway management.

Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Record the results of CLIA waived tests, medications administered, procedures performed, and patient responses.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (optional but beneficial).

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced emergency room setting.

Proven ability to assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity.

Competency in managing critical patients, including those with trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other life-threatening conditions.

Experience administering medications, IV therapy, and other treatments following ER protocols.

Proficient in performing diagnostic tests, including EKGs, blood draws, and lab specimen collection.

Familiarity with ER-specific medical equipment (e.g., defibrillators, ventilators, cardiac monitors).

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation in high-pressure environments.

Competency in rapid assessments and stabilizations, including airway management, wound care, and assisting in resuscitations.
