Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Food Allergy Specialist

You became a nurse to make an impact. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in food challenge and oral immunotherapy (OIT) procedures, partnering closely with patients and families while collaborating with allergists who respect and value your clinical expertise. If you’re looking for a position where your contributions are meaningful and your professional growth is encouraged, this could be the opportunity for you.

What you'll do:

Oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy (OIT) are high stakes, high-reward procedures and treatments. You'll own them from start to finish.

  • Assess and clear patients for challenges. Review medical history and current symptoms to determine eligibility. Your clinical assessment directly shapes the care plan.
  • Educate and advocate for patients and their families. Walk patients and caregivers through the process, risks, and what to expect, ensuring genuine informed consent.
  • Administer and monitor challenges in real time. Follow established guidelines and protocols, track vital signs, recognize adverse reactions early and respond decisively.
  • Collaborate closely with allergists. Work side by side with physicians who respect your expertise.
  • Drive quality improvement, contributing ideas to refine processes and enhance patient-centered care. Your frontline perspective is what our team needs.

Why Midwest:

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
